About Me
I'm a dually certified Speech-Language Pathologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. As a behavior consultant, I work with parents and caregivers to navigate behavioral challenges such as tantrums, defiance, physical aggression, throwing, potty training, self-care skills, sibling fights, and more. My goal is to give you the tools you need to not only address the challenges you're facing now, but to also address future behavior challenges that may arise. I am committed to providing functional, realistic, and effective strategies that are easy to implement and work for your family. I am also committed to providing ethical and compassionate recommendations in line with current best practice in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. All recommendations are evidence-based.

I completed my master of science in speech-language pathology at the University of Arkansas and became a licensed SLP in 2018. After a year of practicing in a multidisciplinary clinic I fell in love with the science of behavior analysis and completed a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis through the University of Arkansas, becoming a BCBA in 2022. I continue to keep both my SLP and BCBA credentials current and have practiced under both in the last couple of years. I have experience with children of all ages but specialize in early intervention (ages 3-10). As a BCBA I have primarily worked with children on the autism spectrum but my speech background has provided me with experience with children across a variety of diagnoses.

My background in communication disorders combined with my knowledge of behavioral science provides me with a unique insight into why challenging behavior occurs and how to teach the skills to replace it. My mission is to pass this knowledge to you so you can see positive behavior change that you and your support system can sustain long-term.

How It Started
Compassionate Behavior Consulting was born out of frustration with the difficult process of obtaining an autism diagnosis in the state of Arkansas, where waitlists can be as long as two years. Without the diagnosis, families cannot access critical ABA services funded by insurance and are often left to manage challenging behaviors on their own while waiting for a spot to open up. Even with an autism diagnosis, waitlists for ABA services can be very long. While waiting for a diagnosis or available services, challenging behavior has the opportunity to establish a history and even sprout new versions of itself, making it more difficult to replace and decrease. I started this company as a way to provide support and guidance in the meantime to families who are living these scenarios.
